Funeral services for James Martin Lackey, 71, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weldon Coble officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rosehill Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Carl Roye.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Lackey, Jr., Darryl Lackey, Jr., John Lackey, Keith Lackey, and Johnny Williams. Mr. Lackey’s sons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Lackey passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012. A lifelong resident of Cleburne, he had worked as a firefighter and also spent time as a businessman in the insurance industry. James retired in 2006 as a security officer with Baylor Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Calvin Lackey and Zelma Carr Lackey; wife, Mary Garrett Lackey; sister, O’Neita Lackey; and brother, Earl Lackey.
Mr. Lackey is survived by his sons, Jimmy and wife, Tammy, John (David), Darryl and wife, Shannon; daughter, Farrell Boone and husband, Rob; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth and wife, Connie, Bobbie and wife, Jeanette; sister, Patricia Grundy and husband, Joe; sister-in-law, Faye Lackey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
