Obituary for Shirley Harwell Lain (Cappers)

Shirley Harwell Lain, 78, of Cleburne, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior after running a good race and crossing the finish line an amazing winner on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Faith Temple with the Rev. Weldon Coble officiating; assisted by the Rev. Alton Harwell.
Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian O’Neal, Ronnie O’Neal, Matt Cappers, Walt Cappers, Lee Smith and Gregory Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Brain Daniel, Gary Jean and Jeffrey Harwell.
Shirley Harwell Lain was born in Whitney, Texas on March 10, 1936, the daughter of Birt and Mable (Peacock) Cappers.
Shirley married Bill Harwell in 1950 and they were married for 27 years. She later married Raymond Lain in 1999.
Shirley loved the outdoors, especially fishing. She caught a 10 lb. blue cat less than a month ago. She was also an avid bingo player.
Shirley was a member of Faith Temple and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children’s father, Bill Harwell; granddaughter, Jeannie Earley; nephew, Butch Heath; niece, Cindy Cotton; and sister, Barbara O’Neal.
Shirley Lain is survived by her husband, Raymond Lain of Weatherford, TX; daughters, Lynda Earley and husband, David, of Stephenville, TX, Brenda Matthews, Sharon Cappers and husband, Donnie, all of Cleburne; and Karon Estep and Gary Jean, his children and grandchild, all of Godley, TX; grandchildren, Sherry Daniel, Lisa Maxwell, Joni Wright, Crystal Smith, Chad, Matt and Walt Cappers and Dana and Katie Hamilton; two nephews, one niece; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
