She was a lifelong resident of Cleburne and graduated from CHS in 1947.
Billie Jeane was an amazing mother and “Granny” who loved each of her children unconditionally in her own special way. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy!! She was a Coleman PTA mother while raising her children in three decades; the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Their friends became “her children” as well and many problems have been solved around her kitchen table.
Billie Jeane was an avid reader and loved to debate politics. She instilled a love of history in her family, and she loved to travel through the south exploring Civil War history. She moved frequently with her parents during WWII as her father built army camps; her favorite move was to Galveston.
Billie Jeane was a member of the Silver Cross Circle (retired) of the International Order of King’s Daughters and Sons and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleburne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. V. Leonard; in-laws, Jesse and Carrie Leonard; grandson, Tyler Leonard; nephew, Bake Leonard; and brothers-in-law, Bill A. Leonard and Gordon Brown.
Billie Jeane is survived by her children, Luanne Leonard Bailey, Stevie Leonard Berg and husband, Eric, and Brent Leonard and wife, LuAnne, all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Jennifer Hunt, Chance Berg and Kylee Ingram, Chaney Berg, Heather Shelton and David Emery, Jeremy Walker and Jarod Walker; great grandchildren Kennedy Styron, Jaxton Hunt, Brooklyn Hunt, Piper Lea Berg, Corey Walker, Tyler Emery and Chloe Emery; sister-in-law, Winnie Mae “Winkie” Brown of Wichita Falls, Texas; nieces and nephews, Gordy and Cindy Brown, Marcia Bernhardt, Ben and Stacy Leonard, Mollie and Jim Renforth, and Ginger and Randy Shirley and their families; daughters of her heart, Martha Harmon and Marsha Carrell; her Oliver and Stephens cousins; and many other family members and friends.
The family wishes to thank Cleburne Fire Department, CareFlight and Texas Health Resources for the loving care shown to Billie Jeane during this time and our many friends for your love and prayers.
