Funeral services for Melvin D. Long, 85, of Granbury, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
There is no visitation scheduled.
Melvin Long passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Granbury. He was born in Owens Prairie, Oklahoma on February 22, 1935, to Loy (Williams) and Arnie Long.
Melvin served his country in the National Guard. He was a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Long; sons, Mike Greenslade and Bill Long; and daughter, Marla Greer.
He is survived by wife, Anita Long of Granbury; sons, Jimmy Long and wife, Sue, of Dallas, Texas, Max Greenslade and wife, Janie, of Cleburne, Texas, and Marty Greenslade and wife, Jo Ann, of Red Oak, Texas; daughters, Vickie Long Sloan and husband, Brian, of Magnolia, Texas, Liz Long Cooke and husband, Jim, of Hempstad, Texas, and Gina Long Milam of Cleburne; brothers, Marvin Long and wife, Fran, of Seagoville, Texas and Marion Long and wife, Elaine, of Kemp, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
