Private family services for Betty Belle Bradley Mahanay, 90, of Cleburne, Texas, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday, December 10, at Rosser Funeral Home.
Betty passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her home. She was born in Cleburne on March 6, 1930 to Fred and Annie Bennett. Betty grew up in Rio Vista, Texas, where she graduated in 1947. She attended John Tarleton Jr. College from 1947-1949.
In 1951, Betty married Billy Joe Bradley. The couple and their children moved to Henrietta, Texas, Denton, Texas, and Celina, Texas where Bill died.
Betty finished her degree in Elementary Education, teaching two years in McKinney, Texas.
In 1966, she moved to Cleburne with her children, Joe and Ann Bradley. Betty taught third grade at Cooke Elementary until her retirement in 1991.
Betty met Emmett Mahanay in 1974 and they were married in 1977 until his death in 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Jon Moser in 2018.
Betty is survived by her children, Joe Bradley and wife, Melinda, Ann Moser, Jolynn Hutto and husband, John, Toi Lawson and husband, Baxter, and Pat Mahanay and spouse, Gilbert Melchor; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
