Mary Jenkins

Mary Rejina Jenkins, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by her family and friends.

 Born on May 9, 1943, in Santa Anna, California, Mary was the daughter of Emery Eugene (Billie) Reed and Virgie Harper Reed. The Reed family moved to Texas in 1946, settling in Cleburne in 1958, where Mary met James Larry Jenkins Sr. They married on December 29, 1961, and together they raised three sons: James, Cliff, and Erin. As a military spouse, Mary supported her family through moves to Oklahoma, California, Holland, and back to Texas upon Larry's retirement.

 Mary was dedicated to serving her country, community, and family. She was known for her empathetic nature as a reflexologist. Her devotion to God, her husband, and her family was evident to all who knew her. Mary and Larry celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in March 2021. She found great joy in cooking and sharing meals, reflecting her generous spirit.

 Mary is survived by her sister Jean Slaggle, three sons: James Jr. (Michele) of Snyder, Texas; Cliff (Kristi) of Cleburne; and Erin (Christie) of Grandview, Texas. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Larry Jenkins,  sister Virginia Sue Prine, grandchild Jena Christine Jenkins, and great-grandchild Max Owen Arellano.

 Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. Memorials may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Cleburne Bible Church. Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
