Nell McLaurin (Landers)
A memorial service celebrating the life of Nell Landers McLaurin, 90, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna J. Ware officiating.
There is no visitation scheduled.
Mrs. McLaurin passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in Cleburne. She was born in Pernell, Okla. on April 29, 1923, the daughter of Mamie (Martin) and Obediah Landers.
A homemaker, Nell also volunteered for 38 years for the Ladies Auxiliary of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital (formerly Walls Regional Hospital) in Cleburne, of which she was a past president. She was a long time member of St. Mark Methodist Church and at the age of 18, became a member and served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R. H. McLaurin; son, David McLaurin; brothers, O. R. Landers and John “Jack” Landers; and sister, Opal Vaughan.
She is survived by her son Douglas McLaurin and wife, Sharon, of Cleburne; grandson, Clayton McLaurin of Cleburne; niece, Mary Tyson of Dallas, Texas; friends at St. Mark Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary, and her very special friends and neighbors.
