Harry Edison McQueen Sr.
Funeral services for Harry Edison McQueen, Sr, 91, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harly Charles officiating. Burial will follow at Buel Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mr. McQueen’s grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
Harry passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born in Houston, Texas on Aug. 25, 1923, the son of Helen (Pope) and John Edison McQueen.
Harry proudly served his country in the United State Army. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII, driving an amphibious vehicle to deliver men and supplies between the ship and fighting on the islands.
After the war, his primary occupation was truck driver. Harry drove trucks from cement trucks to 18 wheelers, both local deliveries and long haul.
He had an amazing memory and could tell you which exit anywhere in the state of Texas where they had good coffee and good food. Harry was a member of the Cleburne First Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed!
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine; two brothers; and son, Earnest William McQueen.
He is survived by his children, Harry McQueen, Jr & wife, Joyce, of Cleburne, Frank McQueen of Tyler, Beatrice Mudryk and husband, Victor, of Arlington, Texas, Karen Walker of Keene, Texas and Carrie Wolcott and husband, Wayne, of Cleburne; daughter-in-law, Gail McQueen of Cleburne; sisters, Linda Faseler of Devine, Texas, Louise Ralph of Atascocita, Texas and Laverne Knappick of Somerset, Texas; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleburne Adventist Christian School, 111 Meadowview, Cleburne, TX 76033.
