Monroe Bicknell III passed away in his home on January 11, 2025 at age 79. There are no services scheduled at this time.
Monroe ‘Skip’ Bicknell III was born in Cleburne, TX to Monroe Bicknell Jr and Kathryn Bicknell (Moon) on December 10, 1945.
Skip graduated from Cleburne high school and later attended Texas Christian University. He worked in radiology at St. Mary's Hospital in Roswell, NM, where he dutifully served patients.
When one lives their life as Skip lived his, it is incredibly challenging to summarize it in a few words. Because Skip was a man who did not just leave an impact on the patients he helped over the years, but on everyone who knew him.
It was impossible to not want to be his friend. His bright eyes and gap-toothed grin immediately made anyone feel at ease. He always had a wise comment or a joke ready for the conversation, and his laughter was infectious.
Skip dedicated his life to cultivating many hobbies, which he has lovingly shared with his family over the years. Any of his children and grandchildren could share a story from the banks of a river, of summer nights in his and Linda’s camper, of quiet evenings on a porch with a guitar, or sitting outside telling stories until the sun set around a full table. Skip put great care and attention into everything he did. His memory will always live on through his children and grandchildren sharing these memories and hobbies, passing them down for generations to come.
Most of all, Skip set the prime example on how to love and be loved. He and his wife Linda married on June 16th, 1978. He and Linda loved each other fully, selflessly, and with every piece of their hearts. The relationship they put the utmost care in, and the family that bloomed from it, is a rare and beautiful thing.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bicknell; children, Dusty Covelli and her spouse Mark Covelli, Ray Bicknell, and Tony Bicknell and his spouse Mell Bicknell; grandchildren Chasity Jones (Andrew), Brittany Bicknell, Harlee Ray Toepfer (Steven), Chase Whitney, Dylan Whitney, Gunnarson Bicknell (Paloma), Gage Bicknell, Ansley Bicknell, and Hannah-Kathryn Whitney; and 6 great-grandchildren.
