Evangeline Sue Nuckols (Horton)
Services for Evangeline Sue Nuckols, 80, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bono Cemetery. Pastor Tony Torres will officiate. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 Monday, June 18, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Sue went to sleep in the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born Jan. 14, 1932 to Babe and Bertha (White) Horton in Cleburne, Texas. Sue resided in Cleburne most of her life. She was a caregiver until age 79 and worked for the North Central Texas and for Gary and Karen Shaw. Sue truly loved and cared for her residents. She was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith and enjoyed being a teacher of the prison ministry and secretary of Sabbath School.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, W.S. Nuckols and James T. Whitacre (father of her children); son, James Michael Whitacre; five brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, David A. Whitacre and Zita Rodriquez; daughters, Toni R. Kenny and husband Fred, Deborah A. Ivy and husband Garland; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Horton and wife JoAnn; very dear friend Diane Criswell; her beloved pets; and numerous nieces and nephews.
