It is with deepest sympathy that the family of James “Jim” O’Neill informs you of the passing of a devoted husband, loving father & grandfather. The family will be having a private memorial service for his close friends and family members, Dec. 2, 2017 at 3 p.m. The memorial service will be conducted at the Maypearl First Assembly of God Fellowship Hall, 508 Noble Street on the corner of 4th & Noble Street, Maypearl, TX. 76064. Officiated by Steve Oliver.
Jim passed away on Nov. 9, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Springfield, MO. on Aug. 27, 1934 to Geneva Nelle (Reece) and Richard James O’Neill. At the time of passing he resided in Cleburne, Texas, where he owned Antique’s & More for ten plus years until April 2013 when a fire claimed the building he leased just off the town square. After which Jim could be found each weekend at the local Cleburne Flea Market grounds doing just what he loved, purchasing & sales of antiques, with his little buddy Chihuahua, “Rowdy”, and spending time with people.
He will be truly missed and never forgotten by all that knew him. One memory to best describe him would be, Jim was a good man that cared for everyone.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Jean Thomas (Brite) O’Neill; son, Dennis Lee O’Neill; parents; sister, Janet (O’Neill) Sullivan of Springfield, MO.
He is survived by his sons, James “Rick” O’Neill, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of The Colony, Charles S. O’Neill and wife, Regina, of Abilene, Michael “Mike” O’Neill and Laura, of Cleburne, Larry W. O’Neill and wife, Judy, of Grandview; daughter, Lesa Kay (O’Neill) Ellis and husband, Morgan, of Maypearl; brother, William David O’Neill and wife, Patricia, of Springfield, MO.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the JPS Foundation at 1223 S. Main Street, Ft. Worth, TX. 76104 or to their website at jpsfoundation@jpshealth.org
