Phillip Dale Whitbeck, 75, of Blum, Texas passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
Phillip was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 11, 1947, the son of Frances (Crabtree) and Dale Whitbeck.
Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Army and was of the Christian faith. Before Phillip retired, he worked as a mechanic to provide for his family. Phillip became one of Johnson County's most trusted mechanics because of his honesty and integrity. His family thanks him for all his hard work and dedication in providing for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his favorite "child", Red Dog. Phillip is survived by his partner in life and friend, Debbie Whitbeck, of Blum; son, Michael Dale Whitbeck of Blum, Texas; daughters, Crystal Andrews and spouse, Lane, of Meridian, Mississippi, Laura Whitbeck of Blum, Texas, and Sara Kinsey and spouse, Jonathan, of Cleburne, Texas; brother, Michael Whitbeck and spouse, Linda, of San Angelo, Texas; sister, Terri Langton and spouse, Fraser Border, of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many family and friends who will dearly miss him.
In life Phillip found immense joy in fishing with his friends, metal detecting and riding his Harley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honor of Phillip.
