Obituary for Clinton Cardell Pruitt

Clinton Cardell Pruitt passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Blum, Texas surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. He was born July 17, 1939 in Cleburne, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Irabell (Hernandez) Pruitt. Clint married Linda Hudson on September 5, 1960.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Blum Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Gist, Richard Evans, Casey Lehtinen, Randall Pruitt, Ryan Pruitt and Christopher Jenkins. Honorary pallbearer is in memory of Rex Bullard.
Clint was a loving husband and a guiding father. He worked at Johns-Manville in Cleburne for 25 years.
Clint was a local icon in Cleburne and Blum with his colorful barber pole hanging outside of his well known barber shop.
Being a member of the Church of Christ in Blum, he was very active in the church. He enjoyed preaching and leading the congregation in songs of praise.
A praying man, Clint loved the church, his family and all those he came in contact with.
He loved to work with his hands as he recognized he was the workmanship of God. Through Christ, he touched others. May he rest in Christ.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Charlene Pruitt; brothers, Edgar Bay, Morman, Roland, Charlie and Orbin; and sisters, Evelyn and Janita.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Pruitt of Blum; sons, Eddie Pruitt and wife, Christina, of Joshua and Raymond Pruitt and wife, Michelle, of Cleburne; daughters, Kelly Evans and husband, Richard, of Cleburne and Karen Gist and husband, Kevin, of Rio Vista; grandchildren, Randall Pruitt, Natasha Lehtinen and husband, Casey, Ryan Pruitt and wife, Candice, Samantha Pruitt, Sarah Gist, Kayla Pruitt, Micaela Evans, MacKenzie Evans, Miranda Pruitt and Christopher Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Corbin, Jonah, Brook, and one on the way, Elyse; brothers, Thornton Pruitt, Archie Pruitt, Thomas Pruitt and Carl Pruitt; sisters, Mary Crelia, Nancy Tipton and Nita Arsenault; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and his church family.
