Richard Lawson "Rich" Reynolds
Richard Lawson Reynolds, 65, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away at his residence due to natural causes on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born on January 6, 1950 in Greenville, SC, he lived out his early childhood in Georgia and at the age of 12 was orphaned and spent his remaining formative years at Mooseheart Child City & School outside of Chicago. He was an outstanding athlete and excelled in football and basketball while attending the school. After completing school, he became a physical education teacher and an athletics coach for many years in the Chicago area. He eventually left coaching to pursue the formation of W.P. Hickman, a roofing systems manufacturer. His life was completed with the marriage of Diane and the adoption of his girls in 1996. Rich was an avid outdoors-man, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and skeet shooting. He loved his bird dogs and fine guns. He was committed to supporting youth athletes as a way to positively develop and enrich the lives of numerous young athletes.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Reynolds; daughters, Ingrid Reynolds of St. Louis, MO and Helga Kate Lightfoot of Burleson, Texas, one granddaughter, Ava Faust; Jerry Reynolds, Illinois, brother and Laura Ciecielski, New Jersey, sister and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Harvey Alexander Reynolds and Aileen Parker Reynolds of Georgia and infant son, John Lawson Reynolds.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Parish Church of the Holy Comforter, Cleburne, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Holy Comforter Church.
