Graveside services for Travis Lee Rhoades, 86, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Rosehill Cemetery.
Mr. Rhoades will lie in state but there is no visitation scheduled with the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Walker, Steven McVicker, Jason Row, Travis Fulenwider, Kenneth Garvin, Monte Ballew, and Gary Fulenwider.
Mr. Rhoades passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his home. He was born in Johnson County, Texas on June 20, 1927, the son of Desy Louise (Forsythe) and Wesley Warn Rhoades.
He retired, having worked 37 years as a clerk with Santa Fe Railroad. Travis married Charlotte Johnson on Sept. 28, 1946 in Cleburne. He was well known for his guitar picking and played in local nursing home to entertain the residents.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eldon Lee Rhoades in 1984; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rhoades of Cleburne; daughters, Sherry Walker of Cleburne, Becky Row and husband, Monte Ballew, of Groom, Texas, Anna Garvin and husband, Kenneth, of Galveston, Texas and Misti Fulenwider and husband, Gary, of Cleburne; brother, Bill Rhoades and wife, Doris, of Cleburne; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
