Obituary for Geraldine Eurah Robinson

Geraldine “Gerry” E. Robinson passed away peacefully in her sleep November 22, 2014 at her home in the Wren Place in Cleburne, Texas. She was born to James and Pearl Mae (Wireman) Osborne June 10, 1925 in Wise, Virginia. She was raised by James and Ethel Mae (Robbins) Osborne. Her brother, James Emory Osborne preceded her in death, as did her (step) sisters Nora Ruth Thomas, Ruby Esther Martin, and Frances Lorraine Wicker. Gerry married the one love of her life, Delmar Franklin Robinson, November 1, 1946. Surviving Gerry and Del are their three children, Sharon K. (Earnie) Peel of Grandview, Texas, Robert J. (Beverly) Robinson of Waxahachie, Texas, and Pamela S. (Steve) Slaughter of Tyler, Texas.

Throughout her life, Gerry loved to travel and see new places. She and Del loved riding motorcycles and they were able to travel much of the United States together. After Del’s death, Gerry returned to school and became an LVN, working in the ICCU at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas before her retirement.

Gerry had a special love for children and animals, and many a stray animal needing a home found shelter and love with her.

Celebrating her life are her children and grandchildren, Amanda Slaughter, Daniel Robinson, and Mike Michelle, and Marshall Peel, and great-grandchildren, as well as the staff of Wren Place and Mission Hospice who made her last months so pleasant and comfortable.

As per her request, graveside services will be conducted Monday, November 24th at 2:00 P.M. where she will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Tyler Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Gerry and family would ask that contributions be made to Mission Hospice at 505 N Ridgeway Drive Suite 173 Cleburne, Texas, 76033.
