Obituary for Ricky Steven Roden
Memorial services for Ricky Roden, 64, of Grandview, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Grace Baptist in Grandview.
The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan.17, 2016 at the church.
Ricky passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at his home. He was born March 12, 1951 in Cleburne, Texas to Margie Nell (Tribble) and Billy Roden.
Ricky was very involved in the community of Grandview. He served on the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. He dedicated many hours to the Grandview Youth Association by working on baseball fields, coaching many kids, and officiating at all sports Grandview had to offer.
Ricky loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and barbequing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and best friend.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Roden of Grandview; daughter, Michelle Rice and husband, Mike, of Grandview; son, Greg Roden and wife, Lisa, of Whitney, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Rice, Brant Rice, Brody Rice, Brady Rice and McKenley Roden; brother, Gerald Roden and wife, Julia, of Burleson, Texas; several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and very close friends.
In lieu of flowers, there is a Ricky Roden Cancer Fund set up at Grandview bank.
