Virginia M. Rodriguez (Herrera)

April 17, 1955 — April 23, 2019

Virginia M. Rodriguez, age 64 of Bakersfield, California went to be with her Lord April 23, 2019 in Cleburne, Texas after her second battle with cancer. Gina was born to Sifredo L. Herrera and Lorraine Montoya of Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 17, 1955. She is survived by her Great Aunts Arlene, Geri, and Lydia, and her Great Uncle Andy and his wife Kathryn. Her sister Ruby Lucero, and brothers Fred and Chris Herrera. Her daughter Melisa Chavez, son Charles Rodriguez and wife Lisa Clark, and daughter Alexis Amezcua. And her grand children Ashleigh, Trey, Nisa, Tye, Bella, Charles, Nathan, Yale, Haley, Dominique, and Oliver. Gina grew up in Bakersfield, California where she attended Foothill High School. She worked at the FoodTown Market, then moved on to become an Eligibility Worker for the County of Kern, which she later retired from. She belonged to many organizations and was the first hispanic female president of the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce. She broke many barriers and left a legacy for herself and other women. After retirement she worked for the Kern County Museum. She enjoyed singing, listening to music, and being around people. Gina was a beautiful soul and anyone who met her fell in love with her smile and joyful presence.
