Alice Roten

Funeral services for Alice Frances Roten, 81, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Melson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Roten passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home. She was born at Brazos Point in Johnson County, Texas on May 31, 1932 to Beatrice (Powell) and Lee Simpson Mears.
Alice worked at JC Penney, retiring after 38 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Roten; son, Dwayne Roten; and sister, Fannie Nelson.
Alice is survived by her son, James Roten and wife, Jane, of Greenville, South Carolina; daughters, Cindy Putty and husband, Jerry, of Grandview, Texas and Carole Daniel and husband, Stephen Fussell of Rowlett, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany McGill, Dylan Putty, Brandi Powers, and Derek Fischer; great grandchildren, Ever Roten, Hopper McGill, Killian Powers, Emma Frances Putty, Gavin Powers, and Sophia McGill; companion, Lewis Meredith of Cleburne, Texas; brothers, Clyde Mears and wife, Doris Jean, of Cleburne and Lewis Mears and wife, Wanda, of Glen Rose, Texas; sisters, Martha Mears of Cleburne and Bessie Dixon of Grandview.
