Obituary for
Gregory LeClair "Greg" Rowland
Gregory ("Greg") LeClair Rowland, 51, passed away on July 27, 2016, after an extended illness.
Greg was born to Don and Jacqueline (LeClair) Rowland on January 31, 1965, in New York, NY. Greg attended Central Florida College in Ocala, Florida. After moving to Cleburne with family in 1991, he attended Hill College and Tarleton State University. He married his wife, Cherie, in 1994, and they welcomed their daughter, Anne, into the family in May of 2001.
Greg was a man whose passions were evident. He adored his family, with his daughter being the absolute light of his life. He enjoyed working on, and riding or driving, all types of vehicles, from 4-wheelers to commercial trucks. He loved to camp and swim with his family. He will be greatly missed.
In his last years, Greg suffered from a rare disease. Hidradenitis Supperativa took control of his life and put him in excruciating pain. He spent much of his remaining time trying to find relief and seeking a cure so that others might not suffer the way he did. In lieu of flowers, his family encourages donations to fund research into this disease. A basket will be available at the memorial, or donations may be mailed to Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229-3095.
Greg was preceded in death by his uncle, Alan LeClair. He is survived by his wife, Cherie, and daughter, Anne, of Cleburne, Texas; his father, Don Rowland, and wife, Carolyn, of New Canaan, Connecticut; his mother, Jacqueline LeClair, of Cleburne, Texas; his sister, Jacqueline LeClair, of Montreal, Quebec; and his aunt, Helen LeClair, of Charlotte, North Carolina.
In accordance with his expressed wishes, Greg was cremated and his remains have been buried. A time of visitation with his family members has been scheduled for August 13, 2016, at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Cleburne, Texas, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
