Sammy Joe Potts

A memorial service celebrating the life of Sammy Joe Potts, 74, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Cleburne Bible Church with Dr. David denHartog officiating.

It is with great sadness as well as rejoicing that we announce the passing of, Joe Potts, who passed away on March 20, 2023. We have comfort in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. He was a man of great character, and his legacy will continue to live on in his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and in hearts of those who knew him.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Texas Joe was a man of many talents and much humor. He was a successful businessman, a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He lived a life of integrity and always put his family first.

Joe had a deep passion for Christ and was actively involved in many ministries and churches throughout his life. One of his Life verses was "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Romans 1:16 Whether you met him on one of the many miles he rode on his bike, at church, or in business he believed deeply in sharing Gods unfailing love.

His generosity and kindness touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In his final days, Joe was surrounded by his family and he passed away at his home in Cleburne, Texas. While we grieve his loss, we take comfort in the fact that his legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. His memory will forever be cherished, and his impact will continue to guide us in our lives.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Potts; sons, Brannon Potts and wife, Mindy, and Greg Potts and wife, Shannon; brothers, Gary Potts and wife, Linda, Larry Potts and wife, Beverly, Robbie Potts and wife, Deborah, and Kyle Potts and wife, Tina; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
