Sandra Smith Cooper

Sandra Cooper, 79, of Cleburne, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

She was born on June 19, 1945, in Hillsboro, Texas to Margaret Wilson Smith and William Seth Smith. She met and married James "Jim" Cooper in Hillsboro in 1961.

In 1986, they settled in Cleburne. Sandra knew from an early age that her calling was nursing, and she dedicated over 60 years serving others in the medical profession.

Once widowed, Sandra showed strength and determination few have, but the love of her children and family gave her the will to go on.

Sandra loved the Lord and was a charter member of Nolan River Baptist Church. Sandra was a sweet and kind lady who never spoke ill of anyone and was loved by all. Her family, friends, and life long friend, Reba, will remember her as a woman of faith, someone who treasured her family, had a sense of humor, someone you could always count on, and was an absolute perfectionist! Sandra was a loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Cooper; and parents, Margaret Wilson Smith and William Seth Smith.

Sandra is survived by her son Greg Cooper and wife, Denise, of Teague, Texas; daughter, Christi Weller and husband, James, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Seth Allen Cooper and wife, Megan, and Zane Gregory Cooper; great grandchildren, Waylen James Cooper, Kenley Elizabeth Robinson, Callum John Cooper, and Sutton Ray Cooper.

Mrs. Cooper will lie in state from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Rosser Funeral Home. A graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Charles Payne and the Reverend Dwight Phillips will officiate.
