Donna June “Nonnie” Scoggin, 69, was called to Jesus’ Kingdom on September 2, 2018, with her family at her side at Texas Health Hospital in Cleburne, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darryl Sullivan, Andy Sullivan,
Matt Sullivan, Larry Day, Chad Ellis, Mark Tufts and Jody Pilkenton.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Scoggin; children, Bethany Scoggin and Joey Scoggin and darling wife Cindy; grandchildren, Avery and Kai Scoggin; sister, Sydney McDougal and her daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Larry Day; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who she loved very much.
Donna was born on July 6, 1949, in Lamesa, Texas to ND and Jake McDougal. She grew up and attended school in Seminole, Texas, along with her sisters, Sydney and Jo Dee.
Donna met and married Greg, the love of her life, on August 16, 1984, in San Antonio, Texas, while working for Valero Energy. She was very close to Sydney’s daughter Elizabeth, who she loved like her own children.
Donna and Greg raised their loving children Bethany and Joey in Katy, Texas, while continuing to work in the oil and gas industry. In 1998, after the children had graduated from high school, they moved to Westminster, Colorado, where they spent twelve wonderful years together. After their grandkids Avery and Kai were born, they moved to Bedford, Texas to be close to them. In 2014 Donna and Greg moved to White Bluff Resort near Whitney, Texas to spend the golden years of retirement and enjoy the grandkids as often as possible.
Donna was a sweet gentle spirit who touched everyone she met with love. Donna was also a fighter who survived breast cancer and esophageal cancer. Nothing could keep her from spending time with her family and friends. She touched many lives and brought great joy to all she met. Donna gave the best hugs that would bring a smile to everyone that was lucky enough to get one. The biggest hugs and smiles came from her grandchildren. “Nonnie” brought so much joy to them and them to her. Donna lived life with such a positive and loving attitude, our Lord no doubt is saying to her “Well done my good and faithful servant”.
