Naomi "Ethelda" Shaw Miles

Funeral services for Naomi “Ethelda” (Shaw) Miles of Keene, Texas, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Maxwell officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers are Cristian Gonzalez, Louis Powell, Jerry Elder, James McCoy, Cody Florida, Colton Powell, Brandon Powell, and Noah Miles.
Ethelda, as most people knew her, was born September 20, 1948 in Grandview, Texas to Dorothy Lorene “Granny” (Sims) and James “JC” Clinton Shaw.
She took her heavenly flight on December 4, 2020 at the age of 72.
Ethelda worked for Cleburne Independent School District for several years until she joined her sister’s company of Dick’s Texaco in Alvarado and Cleburne. She was always ready to help wherever she was needed. Ethelda was an avid writer and loved to write children’s stories and poetry. She enjoyed making crafts, creating imaginative cakes, and sewing clothes and costumes for her family.
Ethelda was Seventh Day Adventist by faith and was a member of the Alvarado Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She married Winlin Otis “W.O.” Miles in Denton, Texas on April 17, 1965.
Ethelda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.O. Miles; older sister, Wannie Schneck; grandson, Chad Garrett; and granddaughter, Syrinia Elizabeth.
She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Gonzalez and husband, Cristian, of Cleburne, Texas, Vicky Powell and husband, Louis, of Alvarado, Texas, Dianne Elder and husband, Jerry, of Keene, and Karri McCoy and husband, James, of Colorado; brothers, John Thomas Shaw and wife, Chris, of Wilmington, California, Roy Shaw and wife, Brenda, of Grandview, Texas, and Lee Shaw and wife, Pam, of Alvarado; grandchildren, Cody Florida, Noah Miles and wife, Robin, all of Cleburne, Brittany Renfrow of Florida, Colton Powell, Brandon Powell, and Alexandria “Nikki” Powell, all of Alvarado, Shanessa Perkins of Athens, Texas, Chelsea Elder of San Antonio, Texas, and Christopher and Alexandria McCoy, both of Colorado; great grandchildren, Brendi, Danny, Bryce, Robert, Derek, Lilliana, Tanner, Phi, Ronnie, CJPJ, Ryley, and Dante; honorary great granddaughter, Emery Rincon; numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones, and loving care givers at Ridgeview Rehabilitation.
