Funeral services for Clifford “Adren” Shipley, 75, of Rio Vista, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Russ Weaver will officiate, assisted by Bro. Oliver Neal. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery near Joshua, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Sept, 7, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mr. Shipley passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Fort Worth on July 4, 1937, the son of Minnie Lou (Brymer) and Clifford Willis Shipley.
He married Suzanne Hodge on November 7, 1959 in Duncanville.
Adren as he was known to family and friends served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from General Motors. He was of the Christian faith and was a devoted listener of the Rev. Russ Weaver.
Adren Shipley is survived by his wife, Suzanne Shipley of Rio Vista, Texas; son, Brett Shipley and wife, Tanya, of Burleson, Texas; daughters, Leslie Smith and husband, Troy, of Sapulpa, Okla.; sisters, Karen Shipley of Boerne, Texas and Carole Shipley of Pleasanton, Texas; grandchildren, Annie, Suzanna, and Hal Payne Smith III, all of Sapulpa, Okla., Colton and Makenzie Shipley, both of Burleson, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends including his cousin, Leroy Vaughn who was raised as his brother.
