Darlene Shue (Wood)
Funeral services for Darlene Shue, 80, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 12 Noon, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Chisholm Trail Church in Cleburne. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Shue, Jr., Dan Langham, Charlie Langham, John Breedlove, Danny McMillan and Billy Harris. Gary Belue will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Darlene Shue died Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born July 29, 1936 in Glen Rose, Texas the daughter of Oda Belle (Wilson) and William Andrew Wood.
Darlene started playing the piano as a young girl. For the last 10 years she played the piano for her church, Buel Baptist Church. Darlene and her late husband, Lester, would play and sing at Grandview Nursing Center, every Tuesday for the residents.
She and Lester owned L & D Electric for approximately 30 years as electricians for multiple residential builders. Darlene was the first licensed Journeyman Woman Electrician for the city of Fort Worth.
She loved to do multiple crafts, spend time with her children, their families and all of her brother and sisters families. She loved to travel, when possible, and be with her church family. Darlene and Lester cleaned their church for numerous years until their deaths.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, William Andrew and Ida Belle Wood; husband, Lester C. Shue; daughter, Debra Darlene Holcombe; grandson Robert Holcombe, Jr.; brother, Marvin; and sisters, Irene, Inez, Joy and Vera.
Darlene is survived by daughter, Carmen Havins and husband, Hugh; son, Rocky Shue, Sr. and wife, Annette; William Woodfill and wife, Lana, Davey Browning and Melody Myrow. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grand children; multiple nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
