A memorial Allan “Al” F. Simmons, Jr. of Joshua, Texas will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Rosser Funeral Home, 1664 West Henderson, Cleburne, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Al’s life.
Al Simmons, Jr. died Sunday, April 8, 2018 in Burleson, TX, due to a heart attack. He was 74 years old.
Al was born to Allan and Lorraine Simmons in Chicago, Illinois on January 17, 1944. He served our nation in the United States Navy for 13 years. Al was a submariner and received a National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and Navy Expeditionary Medal. He owned his own construction and framing company for many years and was an avid gun and animal enthusiast.
Al is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bonnie Simmons; children, Allan F. Simmons III and wife, Debbie, of Goochland, VA and Alisa Bingham and husband, Glenn, of Midlothian, VA; stepdaughters, Nichole Rivera and husband, Jeff, of Eglin AFB, FL and NeAnne Clinton and husband, Dave, of Enid, OK; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Martinez of Los Lunas, NM, Lorraine Wilson, Carol Vanhorn, and Candy Simmons, all of Belen, NM; and brother, Leonard Simmons of Albuquerque, NM.
