Grady Lamar (Preacher) Simmons
Funeral services for Grady Lamar (Preacher) Simmons, 83, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Rosser Funeral Home. Roger Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Derden Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Simmons, Brett Simmons, Ryan Davis, Scott Lynch, Chadd Springer, Gabe Moore, Kyle Simmons, and Thurman Nix.
Mr. Simmons passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 in Cleburne. He was born in Blanton, Texas on March 3, 1929, the son of George Leslie Simmons and Gertrude (Hines).
Grady married Doris Ruth (Hancock) on Oct. 10, 1947 in Rio Vista. He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Braden Lamar Davis; brother, Buddy Simmons, and sisters, Billie Nix and Nell Winters.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Simmons; sons, Dick Simmons and wife, Olivia of Orlando, FL., Keith Simmons and wife, Cheryl of Cleburne, TX., and Tim Simmons and wife, Sandra of Huntsville, AL.; daughter, Kathy Davis and husband, Don of Bedford, TX.; brother, George (Junior) Simmons of Houston, TX.; grandchildren, Alicia and Scott Lynch, Ryan and Asha Davis, Brett Simmons, Wade Simmons, Chadd and Stacy Springer, Staci and Gabe Moore, Kyle Simmons and Kelsey Simmons; and great grandchildren, Madison and Macie Lynch, Meghan and Jacob Springer, Lincoln, Lawson, and Jillian Moore.
