Funeral services for Amy Thornborrow Simons, 50, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Field Street Baptist Church with Dr. John Hall officiating.
Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Amy Thornborrow Simons passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home. She was born to Al and Nell Thornborrow in Sasebo, Japan on July 5, 1968.
Amy sang with the Texas Girls Child Choir. She was a 1986 graduate of C.F. Brewer High School, where she was a member of the Brewer Marching Band and a Centennial Graduate of University of North Texas in1991.
Amy was a public school teacher at Godley ISD for 25 years before cancer forced her to retire. She married her husband, Michael L Simons, June 24, 1995 at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth Texas. They had one daughter, Tiffany Simons, who will be a senior at Howard Payne University in the fall.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Nell Thornborrow.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Simons; daughter, Tiffany Simons; In-laws, Joe and Barbara Simons of Clarendon Arkansas; brothers Mark Thornborrow of White Settlement, Texas and John Thornborrow and wife, Renaye, of Austin, Texas; nieces, Sydney and Shay; nephew, David; plus a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family has established a GoFundMe page to raise money for an incoming college scholarship in Amy's name at Godley High School, as was Amy's wish prior to her passing.
