Burleson—Funeral services for Ruby P. Smith, 87, of Burleson, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Clements will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, Texas.
There is no visitation.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Allen Mays, James Mays, David Mays, Leo Lozano, Jason Day, Travis Musgrove, and Mike Richardson. Honorary pallbearer will be John Mays.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Crowell, Texas on April 18, 1924, to Bertie Mae (Thompson) and John Arthur Worton.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, H. L. “Buddy” Smith.
Ruby Smith is survived by her son, John L. “Rusty” Smith and wife, Marcie, of Keller, Texas; daughters, Linda Mae Mays and husband, John, of Wills Point, Texas and Alexis “Lexi” Draper and husband, Dennis, of Burleson; sister, Mildred McConnell of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society, NTX Chapter, 1200 Summit Ave, Suite 140, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
