Frances Soliz (Avila)
Rio Vista, TX—Funeral services for Frances Avila Soliz (“Granny”) 85, of Rio Vista, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rio Vista Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derek George, Chris Soliz, Kent George, Kason George, Eric Hemnes, and James Bowman.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Soliz passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born in The Grove, Coryell County, Texas on March 9, 1928, the daughter of Elida (Landa) and Cruz Avila.
Mrs. Soliz was a retired seamstress, having worked at Walls Industries in Cleburne and was best known for her culinary skills. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Mrs. Soliz is survived by her husband, George A. Soliz of Rio Vista; sons, Frank Soliz of Clairmore, Okla., George B. Soliz and wife, Angela, of Alvarado, Texas, and Stephen Soliz of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Virginia Soliz of Dallas, Carolyn George of Cleburne, and Dr. Linda Soliz of Dallas; two brothers; seven sisters; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
