She spent her youth in Johnson County with extensive medical stays at Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation for Crippled Children. Virginia graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1962 as Salutatorian of her class. She spent many fond years in the Rio Vista School system, which helped her make accommodations before our educational system adopted them throughout.
Virginia served as scorekeeper for both basketball and baseball games. She worked in the superintendent’s office where she learned her own typing strokes and skills.
To all who knew Virginia, they know what an independent spirit she possessed. She carried that independent spirit in seeking her teaching certification, diagnostic testing young children in her career, and her life.
Virginia graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1966 and gained a Master’s Degree and additional certification in her professional career that spanned 37 years. She lived in the Dallas community for more than 50 years.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
