Obituary for
Dolly Janice Spells (Black)
A family graveside service for Dolly Janice Spells, 84, of Keene, Texas will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Keene Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Schneider officiating.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spells passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, January 6, 2017. She was born in Henderson, Texas on September 5, 1932, to Ruby Lee (Johnson) and Raleigh Black.
Mrs. Spells was a retired hairdresser and a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh and Ruby Lee Black and her husband, Henry David Spells, Jr.
Mrs. Spells is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kay Foster and husband Rob, of Keene; son, Henry David Spells III and wife Kim, of Sachse, Texas; brother, Billy Ray Black and wife Patsy, of Tyler; sister, Betty Ann Heinrich and husband Gary, of Keene; grandchildren, Meagan Dutton and husband Sean, Ethan Foster, Chelsea Foster, Henry David Spells IV and Gabrielle Spells; and great grandchildren, Kamryn Dutton and Beckett Dutton.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to the Dolly Spells Memorial benefitting the Nursing Program at Southwestern Adventist University. Please send donations to the Advancement Center, 100 W. Hillcrest Street, Keene, TX 76059.
