Burial will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery in Rio Vista with Jason Smith, Jeff Smith, Kirt Hankins, Roger Bishop, Josh Grantham, and Codey Greanead serving as pallbearers.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Steve passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at his home.  He was born in Cleburne, Texas on August 9, 1954, the son of Johnie Fae (Carlisle) and Kenneth Arthur Smith.

Steve was a graduate of Cleburne High School class of '72 and attended Tarleton State University. In his early years he had a passion for horses and loved to rodeo. He took great pride in his achievements while bareback riding and loved to tell those stories. 

Steve was a hardworking man, holding many occupations through the years, his most recent being at KWS Manufacturing where he retired after 23 years of service. He had an infectious personality, quick witted humor and a laugh that would brighten anyone's day. He loved his family more than anything, especially holding the title of "Grandaddy" to six grandkids. 

He was preceded in death by his father.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Tina Smith; mother, Johnie Fae Smith; son, Nolan Smith and wife, Brittany; daughters, April Hankins and husband, Kirt and Amber Bishop and husband, Roger; brothers, Doug Smith and wife, Varanya and Phil Smith and wife, Sherri; sister, Judy Morriss and husband, Wade; grandchildren, Ashlyn Hankins, Kaleb Hankins, Kenley Hankins, Lainey Jo Bishop, Whitley Smith, and Wyatt Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
