Vernon Stepp
Funeral services for Vernon Stepp, 95, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from Noon to 1:30 p.m. before the service begins.
Vernon passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home. He was born in Joshua, Texas on Sept. 16, 1917, the son of Ollie Jane (Wade) and Benjamin Franklin Stepp.
Vernon was in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the CBI (China-Burma-India) Theater from 1942-1946. He was an aircraft electrician with General Dynamics, retiring in 1979 after 35 years of service. Vernon was a member of Cleburne Masonic Lodge #315 for over 60 years and was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 75 years where he had served as deacon for over 41 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and four sisters.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Mary (Rodgers) Stepp; son, Kenneth Stepp, both of Cleburne; daughter, Linda Brightwell of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Amy Brightwell of Lewisville, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
