Barbara A. Stevens (Tantillo)
A memorial service in memory of Barbara A. Stevens, 84, of Fort Worth, Texas will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 223 S. Pearson, Keller, TX 76248. A reception will follow.
Barbara A. Stevens passed peacefully at home to be with the Lord and her loving husband of 60 years on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Born February 12, 1932 in Quincy, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lorna (Walton) Tantillo.
Barbara was a terrific wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as a caring compassionate nurse. She graduated from the Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. Besides loving and raising seven children, Barbara also befriended and took many others under her loving care.
She loved searching out yard sales; doing crafts which included crocheting, painting and her ceramics time at the Keller Sr. Center.
Barbara was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles R. “Chuck” Stevens Sr. (March 25, 2012); grandson, Yeorgios Papapaschalis; brothers, James, Willy, and Donald; and sister, Fannie.
Barbara is survived by her children, Ronald Stevens of Inverness, Florida, Gary Stevens (Monique) of Spring Hill, Florida, Lorna Silinovich (Gary) of Saugerties, NY, Mark Stevens (Jo-Ann) of Stottville, NY, Susan Freeman (Dave) of Pooler, Georgia, Charles Stevens Jr. (Bonnie) of Saugerties, NY, and Mary Smith (Jeff) of Fort Worth, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Moisan and Lorna Marks, both of Florida; brother Joseph Tantillo of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
