Services for Veta Mae Stringer, 91, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at Henderson Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie Freeman will officiate. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Tribble, Jerry Cotton, Chris Cochran, Ted Cotton, John Jarrett, and Adam Laing. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Dick Stringer, Tommy Mann, Newt Weeks, Billy Cotton, Ronnie Tribble, and Mike Dohoney.
Veta Mae went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Cleburne, Texas to Ola Hudson Cotton and Hosea Cotton. Veta married Robert Carl Stringer, Jr. on Dec. 23, 1946 in Cleburne, Texas. She owned and operated Veta’s Salon, for 40 years, where she met and maintained numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ricky Dowd Stringer; and six brothers.
She is survived by her son, Roby Stringer and wife Suzie of Ovilla, Texas; and grandchildren, Lindsay Jarrett and husband John and great-granddaughter, Reagan, Erin Laing and husband Adam and great-grandchildren, Tatum and Matthew, Chris Cochran and great-grandson, Ryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
