Marjorie Virginia "Ginger" Swift (Glover)
Funeral services for Marjorie Virginia “Ginger” Swift, 81, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Ragon officiating. Burial wil follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Rosser.
Ginger, as she was known to family and friends, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Hendersonville, NC on July 8, 1932, the daughter of Bertha (Shipman) and James Jeff Glover. She married Tom Swift, who preceded her in death.
Ginger was very active in volunteerism and missionary organizations. She started HOPE support group for cancer survivors and caregivers in Springfield, Missouri, which supported Relay for Life and other cancer support groups. If someone had a need, she would find them help through various groups. Ginger traveled extensively, even smuggling Bibles into China with two missionary groups, at great peril and risk of life if caught.
Ginger is survived by her daughter, Bethany Gale Morales and husband, Jackie, of Cleburne; brother, James Jeff Glover, Jr. and wife, Carolyn; and granddaughter, Michelle P. Sistrunk.
She is also survived by the children of her beloved husband Tom, Jane Aleshire (Vic), Dale Swift (Wendy) and Tom Swift (Ann); grandchildren, Ashley Morse, Stefanie Morse, Emilie White, Zach Swift, and Nathan Swift; and great grandchildren, Alexia Morse and Sophia Morse.
