Granbury—Funeral services for Ollie “Papaw” Tarver, 89, of Granbury, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Pophin officiating. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mr. Tarver passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Granbury. He was born in Glen Rose, Texas on January 2, 1923, the son of Christina and Claude Tarver.
“Papaw” as he was known to family and friends, served his county in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired nurse and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Tarver; grandson, Paul Goodson ; three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Tarver is survived by his son, David Tarver of Granbury; daughters, Nancy Burton of Fort Worth and Donna Teel and husband, D. W. , of Granbury; brother, Ray Tarver and wife, Liz, of Cleburne; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
