Frances Inez "Fran" Thomas (Shehorn)
Frances (Fran) Inez Thomas, of Rainbow, TX, stepped into a well-deserved rest in heaven on May 8, 2015. Fran grew up in Dallas and also lived and was well known in Arlington and Mansfield.
Fran was born September 1, 1935, in Dallas to Douglas and Lois Shehorn, who have preceded her in death.
She was the mother of 3 children: Bruce Shelby (Tamara) of Arlington, TX, Ann Yerrick (Mark) of Pittsburg, KS, and Brian Shelby (Tracie) of Franklin, TN.
In 1971, Fran married Charley Thomas in Dallas and she cared for, raised, and loved his 3 children: Dee Thomas of Burleson, Chuck Thomas (Helen) of Switzerland, and Duane Thomas, deceased.
Fran is also survived by her brother David Shehorn of Florida and her sister Judy Wells (Gary) of Hamshire, TX and 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Fran worked in Arlington as a paralegal with Jerry Hoodenpyle, Attorney for almost 25 years.
She was intelligent, hardworking, and loyal and had many interests, talents, and leadership positions including Secretary of the Somervell County Republican Club, founding member of the Arlington Republican Club, and secretary of the Rio Vista property owners association in Rainbow. She was a life member of P.T.A., a Texas Master Gardener, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, and a Kentucky Colonel. She also loved all animals, especially cats.
A celebration of life memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, TX. A visitation will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the City of Glen Rose to benefit the Animal Control Unit.
