Thurman Weatherred

Graveside services for Thurman Weatherred will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the DFW National Cemetery.

Thurman Wayne Weatherred was born August 30, 1932 in Kirkland, Texas and passed away April 2, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents Allan and Lucille; his brother, James; and oldest son, Joel.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elberta; son, Wayne and his family; sister, Janet Thompson; daughter-in-law, Melissa and her family; and other family members.

Thurman graduated from Pampa High School and Texas Tech University. He was drafted into the Army in 1954 and served his time in Germany as a finance officer.

When he returned to the United States, he completed his master's degree from Texas Tech and started a successful career in banking. Following a career change, he worked many years at Texstar Plastics until he retired at the age of 60.

One of his great passions in life was golf which he enjoyed both watching and playing.

His memorial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in the Columbaria area.
