Funeral services for Vivian M. Townley, 79, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Greenacres Memorial Park.
The first visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Rosser Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. Monday, prior to the service.
Mrs. Townley passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 in Cleburne. She was born in Kelly, Louisiana on February 15, 1939, the daughter of Mary Helen (Powell) and John Jackson Young. She was a bookkeeper for David’s Bakery and was a member of North Cleburne Baptist Church.
Vivian married Gregory D. Townley, Sr. on May 15, 1971 in Lafayette, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gregory; and two brothers, Jack and Jesse Young.
She is survived by her sons, John W. “Rusty” McCartney, Jr. and wife, Alice, of Hamilton, Mississippi, John Faye “Jeff” McCartney and wife, Yvonna of Lavaca, Arkansas and Gregory D. Townley, Jr. and wife, Christine, of Abbeville, Louisiana; daughters, Lisa M. Swanson and husband, Jeff, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Shannon Brown and husband, Jack, of Cleburne, Robin Duhan of Coppell, Texas and Debbie Rodrigue and husband, Michael, of Abbeville; sisters, Helen Jackson and husband, Dennis, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Laverne Roberson of Bethany, Missouri, Lori McAdams of Natchez, Mississippi, Mary Warner and husband, Lunsford, of Tupelo, Mississippi, Johnnie Boutwell and husband, Gary, of Hammond, Louisiana and Sherrie Mitchell and husband, Ronnie, of Ringgold, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Fe Trails Memory Care or to Mission Hospice.
