Obituary for Tommy "Sleepy Chicken" Vaughn

Tommy Vaughn, AKA “Sleepy Chicken”
Tommy Vaughn, 79, AKA “Sleepy Chicken” of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Weldon Coble will officiate. Burial will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery in Rio Vista. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 at Rosser Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Thomas Vaughn, Jr., Curtis Lee Vaughn, Kenneth David Vaughn, Jr., Joshua Thomas Vaughn, Richard Jordon, and Jason Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be William Jason Knapp, Jeffrey Braswell and Jordon Braswell.
Tommy passed away quietly at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born Nov. 4, 1935 in Hill County to Frankie Lee (Robinson) and Henry Gilliam Vaughn. Tommy was a truck driver and a member of Faith Temple Church in Cleburne.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, one brother; two sons; and one grandson.
Tommy is survived by his sons, Kenneth David Vaughn, Sr. and wife, Charla, of Godley, Charlie Thomas Vaughn, Sr. and wife, Tina, of Cleburne, Clovis Henry Vaughn and wife, Penny, of Godley, Thomas Everett Vaughn and wife, Tabitha, of Alvarado; daughters, Glenda Vaughn Jordon and husband, Richard, of Hillsboro, Qulima Kay Knapp and husband, Arnold, of Grand Prairie; brothers, Robert Edgar Vaughn and wife, Margaret, of Talihina, Oklahoma, Gill Vaughn and wife, Paige, of Joshua, Henry Vaughn and wife, Tina, of Prairie Hill; sister, Helen Judkins of Cleburne; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-brothers, step-sisters, other relatives, and friends.
