Walter Stephenson III

Walter Stuart Stephenson III, known to most as Stevie, aged 53, passed away on Jul 30, 2024, at his home in Rio Vista, Texas. He was born on May 3, 1971 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Walter Stuart Stephenson Jr. and Sharon Ann Stephenson. 

He was a lifelong resident of Rio Vista, where, as a child, he lived his ultimate passion for sports and music. He was a drummer, Guitar and piano player. He played football, basketball and even played pitcher on the baseball team from the age of 6 and every year that followed. In his early twenties, Stevie learned how to be a mason by working for a local contractor, Pat Small. During this time, he learned how to be a highly skilled bricklayer, eventually creating his own crew and contracting to homebuilders as an independent contractor. 

Besides his family, Stevie's second love was the Dallas Cowboys. Good, bad, or ugly, Stevie remained a loyal fan his whole life. No matter where he went, he was the life of the party and could always make people laugh. Stevie loved God with all of his heart and passed that same love on to his family. 

He is survived by his Mother Sharon Wilkerson of Keene, TX His wife, Jenny Peet of Rio Vista; his older sister, Kerrie Bachhofer and husband, Michael of Rio Vista; his younger brother Mark Stephenson and his wife, Rebekah of Keene, TX and also by his three children: Stephen Lee Stephenson and wife Stori, Dakota Cantrell, and Samantha Stephenson, 3 Grandchildren Halen, Harden & Stevi Stephenson all of Rio Vista Texas and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Wally, Stepfather Frank and Grandparents. 

Everyone is invited to attend his celebration of life service on August 4 at 3:00pm at the Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church located at 7707 CR 1208, Rio Vista. If you can, please wear something that represents the Dallas Cowboys or something navy blue.
