Thurman Wolfe
Thurman Wolfe, 79, of Cleburne, Texas died peacefully on September 6, 2015 with his family and friends at his side. He was born January 4, 1936, the son of Coy Wolfe and Myrtle Penny in Coleman, Oklahoma and was raised in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
He married Deloris Morrow on May 15th, 1959 in Ada, Oklahoma and moved to Cleburne in 1960. With the exception of one year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, they made their home in Cleburne, Texas.
Thurman became a registered architect in 1968, working for several local architects. He continued his education attending UTA at night to earn a degree in finance. He later became the City Architect for Fort Worth in 1979 and retired in 1991 to start his business as an Architectural Handicapped Access Consultant. Later, in 1994, he received a Teaching Certificate through Tarleton State University to teach Secondary English, which he taught for two years at Aquilla Independent School District at the Junior and High School levels.
Thurman then began teaching drafting and math at the college level at ATI until the school dropped drafting from the curriculum. He retired in 2005 and devoted his time to writing two western novels as well as two short stories now published on Amazon.
He served as a member of the Cleburne Junior Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he served as a member of First Christian Church of Cleburne Choir, Deacon, Elder, and Chairman of the Board. He also worked with the Cleburne chapter of Literacy Volunteers of America, which prompted him to start teaching Secondary English.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy Wolfe and Myrtle Penny, brothers, Malcolm and C. C., sisters, Lois, Nita, and Betty, and step-parents as well as step-brothers and step-sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Deloris, of Cleburne; son, Michael and his wife, Kristy, of Justin, Texas; sister-in-law, Donna of Richmond; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Mr. Wolfe’s final request is to have a party to celebrate his wonderful life on January 3, 2016, at the First Christian Church Education Building at 3 PM. You will be listening to his favorite music and watching photos of his life. Please come and enjoy a reflection of his life with family and friends.
