Obituary for Billie L. Wood (Newsome)
Funeral services for Billie L. Wood, 73, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Brian Hackney will officiate; assisted by Tyler Wood. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wood passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 in Blue Mound, Texas. She was born in Belton, Texas on Oct. 18, 1942, the daughter of Helen (McClintock) and Earl Newsome.
Mrs. Wood was retired having taught school in the Joshua ISD.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Newsome; and husband, Jay Wood.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her son, Tyler Wood of Aubrey, Texas; daughters, Meagan Wood of Blue Mound and Vicki Wright of Plano, Texas; mother, Helen Horn of Grandview, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan and Brayden Wood, Kamron Bates, and Chelsea Philbrick; sisters, Pat Cornelius and husband, Jim, of Floydada, Texas, Kay Slaton and husband, Jeff, of Glen Rose, Texas and Nan Newsome of Cleburne.
