Judy Lou Worthington (Woods)
A memorial service celebrating the life of Judy Lou Woods Worthington, 73, of Fort Worth, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Worthington passed away Monday, July 21, 2014, in Fort Worth. She was born in Dallas, on October 15, 1940, the daughter of Ray and Helen Ruth (Santy) Woods.
She was graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1958, and attended Tarleton State College and Texas Christian University. She was graduated from Texas Wesleyan College (B.A., 1961; M.S., 1981).
Judy married Joe B. Worthington on August 5, 1962, in Dallas. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Judy was a retired teacher from the Cleburne ISD and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benbrook, Texas. For many years, she volunteered with CASA of Johnson County, the Cleburne Pregnancy Center, and FBC Benbrook’s Read-to-Win Literacy program.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Helen Ray Nicholson.
Judy Worthington is survived by her son, Lewis Worthington of Coppell; daughters, Robin Tuley of Lubbock and Kelley Worthington of Aledo; sisters, Sue Sultemeier and husband, Carroll, of Fredericksburg and Linda Boucher and husband, John, of Stephenville; brother, Roy Woods of Dallas; grandchildren, Austin and Amy Tuley, Aubrey Taylor and husband, Brad, Sean and Rebecca Headrick, and Madison and Corinne Worthington; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
