Obituary for Thomas Wendell Yates

A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas Wendell Yates, 74, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Wendell Yates officiating.
Mr. Yates passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at his home in Cleburne. He was born in Blum, Texas on Aug. 9, 1940, the son of Brooksy Evelina (Moore) and Willis Cecil Yates.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Retired from Southwestern Bell, Mr. Yates was active in coaching youth sports. He was a Mid- Cities coach in Little Dribblers, PeeWee Football, softball and baseball.
Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Willis Elton Yates.
He is survived by his wife, Ina Roden Yates of Cleburne; sons, Kenneth Wendell Yates and wife, Patricia, of Fort Worth, Texas, Thomas Allen Yates of Dallas, Texas, and Rod Malcolm Yates of Fort Worth; daughter, Kimberly Ann McKinnie of North Richland Hills, Texas; step-sons, Bill Roden and wife, Gaye, and Tom Roden and wife, Kelly, all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Bernadette, Sarah, Jerrod, Travis, Cameron and Rachael; great grandchildren, Aiden and Gavin; brother, Cecil Yates and wife, Cindy, of Burleson, Texas; sisters, Lilly Ewing of Cleburne, Babe Murphy and husband, Bill, of Dublin, Texas and Dorothy Jackson and husband, Bo, of Denton, Texas.
