Obituary for Clyde Wilbern Young

Graveside services for Clyde Wilbern Young, 79, of Leakey, Texas will be at 1:00pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.
Clyde passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in San Antonio. He was born in Enid, Oklahoma on April 20, 1937, the son of Marguerite (Dowdy) and Clyde Young.
Clyde graduated from Cleburne High School in 1955 and attended both Texas Tech University and TCU. During the 60’s and 70’s, he was a supervisor working on the interstate system here in Texas that was being built during that time. He spent the remainder of his working life as a self employed industrial electrician, welder & mechanic, in and around the Cleburne area.
After retiring, he moved to Leakey, Texas where he spent his days on the Frio River taking care of a small herd of Longhorn cattle, “piddelin” (as he called it) on his machinery and restoring his beloved Farmall tractors.
“Unkie”, as he was fondly called by his family & friends, was a life-long member of the Episcopal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde & Marguerite.
He is survived by his brother, Joby Young of Leakey, Texas; nephew, Ben Young of Leakey, Texas; nieces, Britt Heald of Montgomery, Texas and Jenny Young of Houston, Texas; great nephews, Ty Fossett and Jack Young; great nieces, Chelsea Epp (Justin) and Madison Heald; great-great nephew, Kenneth Epp and a host of other relatives & friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memories be made to your local hospice or a charity of your choice.
